Lactose intolerance is caused by a deficiency of the enzyme lactase (β-galactosidase) in the small intestine. This enzyme is responsible for the absorption of milk sugar - lactose. Lactose is a complex milk carbohydrate consisting of glucose and galactose. When the lactase enzyme breaks down lactose into glucose and galactose, these simple carbohydrates are easily absorbed by the body. In the absence of the lactase enzyme, undigested lactose passes to the large intestine, where it is fermented by intestinal bacteria. This leads to gas, acids, bloating and diarrhea. Lactose intolerance can be of varying degrees and variable. In European countries, as well as in Lithuania, lactose intolerance occurs in up to 30% of people. This is a pressing concern because those with lactose intolerance must limit their food choices. Despite dietary recommendations, long-term foods containing lactose may have no effect on bowel function.

• Lactase enzyme 500 mg

Ingredients : Bulking agent (microcrystalline cellulose), Bovine gelatin, Microgranulated galactosidase (Tolerase™ L lactase), Color (titanium dioxide).

Directions: Take 1 capsule with meals that contain lactose. 1 capsule is usually enough to digest 20-26 g of lactose. About 400 ml of whole milk contains this amount of lactose.
